Acknowledgement Of Policy Regarding Fee Schedule For Towing Service

  1. Acknowledgement Of Policy Regarding Fee Schedule For Towing Service

  2. North Myrtle Beach City Ordinance Chapter 22 “Vehicles for Hire” Article III, “Towing and Wrecker Services” establishes the fee schedule for towed vehicles and service calls. Fees charged will be determined by the type of call for which the towing service is required. The types of calls can be but are not limited to arrests, vehicle accidents, improperly parked, and/or abandoned vehicles.

    1. If the towing service is responding to an arrest, improperly parked vehicle, abandoned vehicle, or a vehicle accident the fee for the tow will be an amount based on the current city ordinance. No other fees will be added.
    2. If the recovery of a vehicle, involved in an accident, extends beyond one (1) hour from the time the tow truck begins recovery, an additional fee, per hour, may be charged, based on the current city ordinance. The police officer on the scene will note the time on CAD when the tow truck arrives and departs from the scene.
    3. If the towing service is responding to both an arrest and a vehicle accident, the fee will be that for a vehicle accident.
    4. The daily storage fee may not exceed the amount specified in the current city ordinance per day, beginning 12 hours after the vehicle is towed and every 24 hours after.
    5. If the towing service is called for a tow and does not tow, a fee based on the current city ordinance, may be accessed to the owner/operator of the vehicle for which the call originated.
    6. If a tow company releases a vehicle between 6pm & 7am, a releasing fee, not to exceed the amount established in the current city ordinance, may be accessed.

No other fees, other than the ones described above, are to be assessed. Violation of the fee schedule will result in the removal of the wrecker service from the wrecker rotation list.

I have read and understand the above fee schedule and agree to comply with the terms as set out above. I have also read the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety’s Procedure 9.32 and North Myrtle Beach City Ordinance Chapter 22 “Vehicles for Hire” Article III, “Towing and Wrecker Services” reference wrecker services and rotation and agree to comply with all policies, procedures, and city ordinances listed therein.
