NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – City leaders met with the Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) to survey damage from Hurricane Ian.
The Mayor, Council Members, and the City Manager consulted with Maj. Gen. William Graham, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Lt. Col. Andrew Johannes, Commander of the Charleston District of the ACOE on Sunday.
They examined major beach erosion and the destruction of sand dunes, and the damage caused to the Cherry Grove Fishing Pier and the Sea Cabin Pier. Debris from the piers is still on the beach.
