Election Info


The Municipal Election Commission of the City of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina announces the election for the City of North Myrtle Beach to be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.

Any person wishing to register to vote in this election must do so no later than Friday, October 1, 2021. Register online at or contact the Horry County Board of Voter Registration at (843) 915-5440. Absentee ballots must be obtained through the Horry County Voter Registration office in Conway.

The following offices shall be included in this election:

-- Mayor -- November 2021-November 2025

-- Council Member At-Large -- November 2021-November 2025         

-- Council Member Ocean Drive Ward -- November 2021-November 2025

-- Council Member Windy Hill Ward -- November 2021-November 2025

Citizens desiring to be candidates for the above-listed offices may file with the City Clerk at the North Myrtle Beach City Hall, 1018 Second Avenue South. Books will open for filing on August 19, 2021, at 12:00 pm and remain open during regular business hours until 12:00 pm on September 2, 2021. The City's regular business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm. The filing fee for the office of Mayor is $150.00 and $75.00 for the office of Council Member.

The polls open for voting at 7:00 am and close at 7:00 pm. on November 2, 2021.

At the close of the polls on November 2, the North Myrtle Beach Municipal Election Commission will count the absentee ballots at City Hall.

The Commission will meet at North Myrtle Beach City Hall at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 4, 2021, to certify the election and determine the validity of ballots challenged in the election.

Any runoff will be held two weeks after the election on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

The following precincts and polling locations will be open on November 2, 2021:

-- Cherry Grove 1 Precinct - Chapel by the Sea Church, 1051 Sea Mountain Highway

-- Cherry Grove 2 Precinct - Fire Station #4, 5345 Little River Neck Road

-- Crescent Beach Precinct - J. Bryan Floyd Community Center, 1030 Possum Trot Road

-- Nixons 1 Precinct (Grande Harbour Residents only) - North Myrtle Beach High School, 3750 Sea Mountain Highway, Little River

-- Ocean Drive 1 Precinct - Fire Station #1, 1015 2nd Avenue South

-- Ocean Drive 2 Precinct - St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 801 11th Avenue North

-- Wampee Precinct (Park Pointe Residents only) - Riverside Elementary School,1283 Highway 57 South, Little River

-- Windy Hill 1 Precinct - Windy Hill Fire Station #3, 801 33rd Avenue South

-- Windy Hill 2 Precinct - Fire Station #5, 4740 Barefoot Resort Bridge Road
