Career
Fire Captain Ryan K. Rose began his fire service career as an Explorer Member with the Worthington, Kentucky Volunteer Fire Department in 2002 before working for the City of Russell, Kentucky Fire Department from 2005 until relocating to South Carolina in September 2010 to begin a career as a Firefighter/EMT with our Department. He was promoted to Fire Engineer in 2013 and Fire Lieutenant in 2019 serving on various companies throughout that time with his latest assignment on Engine 1, B-Battalion. Prior to serving as Fire Captain, he also has served as the Fire Safety Emergency Services Coordinator for Coastal Carolina University for over a decade with primary responsibility in special event planning, emergency management, and in life safety initiatives.
Education
Captain Rose holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology and a Master of Science in Safety, Security, and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. He holds IFSAC Certifications in Fire Officer II and Fire Instructor II in addition to several specialty certifications through the South Carolina Fire Academy. Captain Rose is also accredited as a FM (Fire Marshal) Designee through the Center of Public Safety Excellence – Commission on Professional Credentialing.
Family
When Captain Rose is not serving the citizens and visitors of North Myrtle Beach, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Carrie, and their two sons.
