Charles Full was promoted to Division Chief of Fire Training on July 19th, 2021 after serving as a Fire Lieutenant since November of 2008.
Career & Training
Division Chief Full began his fire service career as a part of the New Jersey Forest Fire Service in 1996 where he served multiple deployments for large forest fires in the Western U.S. After relocating to South Carolina, he began as a Firefighter/EMT with our Department in February 2007. He was promoted to Fire Lieutenant in November 2008 and has served in that role on different apparatus since that time. His last detail was the A-Battalion Officer on Truck 1 when it first went online as a fully staffed company in September 2020. Division Chief Full has a strong background in fire training and has served as an active member of our Instructor Cadre while a Lieutenant on shift. He has also served in temporary assignment roles over the years as part of the Training Division.
Division Chief Full is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree through Columbia Southern University. He holds IFSAC certifications in Fire Officer, I, II, Fire Instructor I and II, Firefighter I and II amongst several others. Division Chief Full is also a South Carolina Fire Academy Instructor.
As Division Chief of Training, he is responsible for the daily operations of our training division to support our Operational personnel. He is responsible for coordinating fire department training for all new hires and current members to ensure that personnel can perform to the best of their abilities
Division Chief Full is also a part of the Emergency Management Team for the City and is involved in the planning of Fire Department operations for scheduled events or large incidents that impact our City.
Division Chief Full is happily married to his wife Amy and they have two children, one son (RJ) and one daughter (Mackenzie). They enjoy taking advantage of the Intracoastal Waterway boating whenever they can!
