MAY 14-JUNE 18 BEGINNER SWIM LESSONS OFFERED FOR ADULTS WHO ARE FEARFUL OF GOING IN THE WATER

The North Myrtle Beach Aquatic & Fitness Center (AFC) offers May 14-June 18 beginner swim lessons for adults who are fearful of going in the water.

The six lessons take place in the AFC’s warm-water teaching pool each Friday from 5:30 pm-6:15 pm, May 14 through June 18.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, 37 percent of adult Americans cannot swim the length of a pool, which puts them at risk of being one of the 10 people who drown every day in the United States. Yet, when asked, most adults say they aspire to swim more than any other activity. What keeps them out of the water? Fear. If you have this fear, it is nothing to be ashamed of and, given the right approach, you can learn to overcome your fear of the water, adding enjoyment and safety to your future.

The fee for AFC Members is $32.00 and the fee for Non-AFC Members is $46.00.
